Well, the author did it again! I read the first part of this series and gasped when it ended because I was so taken in by the story. I should have been more prepared this time but as I started reading I again became immersed in the story. When this segment ended I was like a hungry man who gets to eat half his meal before it is taken away. If this author put out more stories tomorrow, I would grab them all. The history and feel of the orient float off the page like incense and envelop the reader. I am a big fan of Shogoro and of TD Bauer. These stories are full of honor and courage and intrigue, not to mention exciting swordplay and action. Get it, read it, and be ready to want more.Product details

I enjoyed this short story. I would have preferred it if it was a bit longer but it was enjoyable just the same.
Great second story, I was really drawn into it and almost anticipating the next part. As good as many of the other samurai stories I have read. Please continue to write and release more of this intriguing story.
Great story line, intrigued. Would like to follow the story as it develops and see the ending to the decades of feud between clans. Also, would like to know how this ronins life leads him, how his spirit moves him.
Very enjoyable short story. I feel this could very well have been a book with more time. I hope Bauer continues to write and write a full story one day. Bauer, know you have a fan now and will be looking for more of your fiction in the future.
Continue to capture and explore Shogoro as a disciplined and driven soldier. I look forward to the next installation of this already interesting tale of Katsume Shogoro, the ronin samurai.
This second excerpt from the "Tale of Katsume Shogoro", only serves to prove that the first installment was just a one shot wonder. This excerpt is longer, more involved in excellent character development, and storyline expansion. Can't wait for TD Bauer to put the completed novel on the market
It is an interesting story, but entirely too bogged down in trying to explain every Japanese element it comes across. It would benefit either from having a glossary in the back, or much briefer descriptions. Further, the work could use a thorough editor. There were many minor errors and some continual grammar errors.
The lead character is well presented and his desire to reclaim his family's honor is interesting because there are so many possible twists and turns this story could take.
Although I am reading this one chapter at a time, this could be a wonderful full novel with a riveting story line.
I hope the author continues with his excellent work.
